My scholarship stay in Austria had a significant impact on both my personal and professional development. On a personal level, I was able to experience a new culture and way of life, which broadened my perspective and helped me to develop a more open-minded and global mindset. Dr. Bilal Wadood's CV
Dr. Bilal Wadood is currently working as a Lecturer at the Department of Geology, University of Swabi (Pakistan). He is mainly engaged in teaching to the undergraduate and postgraduate students and conducting scientific research in the field of Earth Sciences. Previously, he was attached with a number of research and industrial organizations. He also worked in State Key Laboratory of Continental Dynamics in the Northwest University (China) as Research Assistant. Additionally he worked in the Stable Isotope Laboratory of the University of Lausanne
(Switzerland) as Guest Researcher.

His research interest includes:

  • Establishing a reliable stratigraphic framework of various sedimentary sequences deposited in the sedimentary basins of Pakistan and the application of sedimentological and biostratigraphic techniques for the hydrocarbon exploration in these basins.
  • Petrography (including optical and electron microscopy) of carbonate rocks and sediments combined with stable isotope and elemental geochemistry for palaeoenvironmental and paleoclimatic reconstructions, investigating links between climate and tectonics throughout the Earth history
  • Diagenesis of carbonate rocks and sediments for distinguishing original characteristics from secondary alterations and their implications for petroleum exploration
