All current incoming OeAD scholarship holders will be invited to an Online Talk and meeting on
24th April 2023, 2 - 4 pm CET
„Publish or Perish“ has been the mantra in academia over the past years, along with the urge to publish Open Access. Academic careers increasingly depend on the list of publications.
Without publications in renowned international peer-reviewed journals it is increasingly difficult to start a successful University career. More and more so-called ‘predatory publishers’ aggressively promote their journals and services without providing the necessary editorial and publishing support.
Together with Dr. Leonhard Suchenwirth from the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) we will discuss the phenomenon of predatory journals and how to avoid the pitfalls of academic publishing.
After the talk there will be time for questions & discussion and informal chat.
Invitation will be sent out soon to all incoming scholarship holders as well as former scholarship holders since September 2020.
