The final Online Talk, focusing on the developments in labour market integration at the EU level, will take place on 20 November 2020 (11:00 – 12:30 CET). The consortium will present the key findings of the project and discuss the most topical issues and developments concerning labour market integration of researchers at risk/with refugee background in Europe, based on substantial experience and insight gained throughout the project.

The CARe Online Talks delivered thus far have provided a chance to discover innovative support practices for the target group and to discuss pertinent challenges across several European countries. Those participating have had a chance to share views and listen to experiences from colleagues and researchers working in the field. This final Online Talk will synthesize this rich learning and present the findings via the format of a panel discussion.

The talk will be joined by:

  • Marlène Bartès (European Commission, DG EAC - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions)
  • Orla Duke (SAR Europe/InspirEurope project)
  • Abdirashid Ismail (Migration Institute of Finland)

About CARe Online Talks

The CARe consortium is organising a series of 11 CARe Online Talks in the period September-November 2020. The series will comprise one country-specific Online Talk per project country, looking into the national labour market landscape, and one EU-wide Online Talk, discussing how EU-level initiatives and cooperation can contribute towards better support for researchers at risk and with refugee background.

The Online Talks will feature the main findings from CARe activities (focus groups, employer survey) and information collected for the CARe country guides on relevant support structures and initiatives for labour market integration of the target group. Each Online Talk will host 3-4 selected speakers to share their experiences, insights and lessons learned concerning assistance to researchers from the target group. They will also put forward some suggestions as to desirable support at European and national level for researchers and organisations willing to support them (employers in and outside academia, local/regional/national-level decision makers, civil society, intermediary bodies and support networks, etc.).
