The PV PUMP project is 1 out of 10 proposals selected for Preparatory Funding under the 9th call of the APPEAR.
The new established partnership is a cooperation between the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA) and the University of Graz. One of the top priorities for the researchers is the optimal management of water resources in Armenia and Austria as both countries suffer from the shortage of irrigation water, being mountainous countries. To reach the optimal management of those resources, the joint project proposal for an APPEAR Academic Partnership will focus on accurate research data and engineering solutions, which will enable an expansion of the irrigation areas in the country. Thanks to the innovative engineering solutions within the project team, optimal management of water resources, management of environmental issues and increase of agricultural and economic efficiency will be the focus of the project proposal. At the scientific-applied stage of the project, development of alternative energy, IT methods/toolkits, applied mathematical models, optimal solution's water treatment plants installation and effective management of water resources should be conducted.
