Petra Siegele, Head of Public Science at the OeAD, will discuss in a short presentation what remains four years after the conclusion of the Sparkling Science funding program for science-school collaboration.
Sparkling Science was initiated in 2007 by the Austrian Ministry of Science with the aim of actively engaging children and young people in research and breaking down barriers between the science and education systems. By 2019, more than 101,000 students were conducting research side by side with scientists in around 300 research projects. The impacts achieved by the program at the institutional and individual level were explored, among other things, in five evaluations.
CitSciHelvetia'23 is taking place for the second time this year. The conference connects Swiss actors from the fields of Citizen Science, science communication, participatory research and Open Science.
