Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps

Erasmus+ is the EU programme promoting education, vocational training, youth, and sport. From 2021 to 2027, the European Union is providing Euro 28.4 billion for exchanges within Europe and internationally. Erasmus+ focuses on cross-border mobility for people of all ages, collaboration in European projects, and support for policy reforms. The programme funds mobility and cooperation projects in areas such as schools (including early childhood care), vocational education and training, higher education, adult education, youth, and sport.

As the national agency for Erasmus+ in Austria, the OeAD is responsible for implementing the EU programme. The OeAD acts on behalf of the relevant Austrian ministries as well as the European Commission.

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a European Union programme that encourages young people to engage in projects and activities that benefit communities. It offers young people aged 18 to 30 the opportunity to participate in non-profit projects, both domestically and abroad. The programme focuses on promoting solidarity and strengthening social cohesion while providing participants with valuable experiences that enhance their personal and professional skills. Through the ESC, organisations and businesses can offer young people from across Europe opportunities for voluntary engagement.

In Austria, the European Solidarity Corps is implemented by the OeAD.
