Subject-related study periods abroad and postgraduate studies constitute an important link between the degree programme completed in one’s home country and a high-quality start of a professional career or continuation of one’s career worldwide. They provide new possibilities to gain subject-specific knowledge and superior social, linguistic and intercultural skills.

Many potential employers appreciate international experience, also and especially experience gained by means of postgraduate studies and documented activities abroad. This may even be a prerequisite for a quick start of a career in your field of education or for promotion to a higher position.

The International Cooperation in Higher Education Department as well as the national Agency Erasmus+ Education at the OeAD manage a whole series of outgoing scholarship programmes.

Further options are listed in Austria’s biggest online database for scholarships and research grants, grants.at.
