Curriculum vitae
During his studies Riccardo Baratella has seen different countries and universities. Originally coming from Italy, he graduated with a PhD from the University of Padua under the supervision of Prof. Pierdaniele Giaretta with a dissertation on the metaphysics of events. As he had already successfully completed short visiting research periods at the Universities of Saint Andrews in the United Kingdom, at the Columbia University in New York City in the US and at Neuchâtel University in Switzerland, he decided to apply for an Ernst Mach Grant worldwide in Austria. Thus, he spent seven months at the University of Salzburg under the supervision of Prof. Julien Murzi. Since 2019 he now works at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Tübingen in Germany, where he receives a DAAD post-doc scholarship. He continues to perform research in his main area of specialization, the metaphysics of events and objects, and teaches metaphysics at the bachelor programme.
Reflection
The OeAD Ernst Mach Scholarship has been extremely important for my professional development. It allowed me to work with a great supervisor in an exciting and internationally established university. Moreover, I had the possibility to get in contact with other scholars and I made new and stable connections. My time in Austria had an incredibly positive impact on both my professional skills and my private life. The OeAD Scholarship has been so fruitful that I warmly suggest everyone to apply for one.
