Contents of the lectureship programme
- Teaching activities amounting to 12-14 hours per week in Language teaching, Regional studies, and Literature and cultural history depending on the agreement with the host department
- Carrying out research work of your own and other forms of further education activities besides teaching and examination activities at the host university
- Advising students at the host department about study, research and cooperation possibilities in Austria
- Planning and organising events related to Austria at the host location to convey a contemporary image of Austria in all its facets.
Duration of the lectureship
- The maximum duration of a lectureship is 5 years.
- A change of location within an OeAD funding contract is possible provided that you have worked at least two years at a host university and working at least two years at another host university is possible.
- Reapplication is possible provided that you still meet the application requirements and have not yet spent five years at host universities abroad as an OeAD lecturer.
Goals of the programme
The aims of the Austrian lectureship programme are:
- Promotion of the German language at universities abroad
- Conveying Austrian culture and current academic research in Austria on an international level
- Enabling graduates of humanities and cultural studies to gain further academic qualifications

OeAD lectureships take place at departments of German language and of foreign languages.
