Calls for applications
‘Sparkling Science 2.0’ funds high-quality research projects in which scientific institutions work together with educational institutions and, where possible, partners from business and society.
The first call for proposals for the research funding programme was issued in September 2021 and a total of 168 projects were submitted. Of these, 34 outstanding projects were funded by the BMBWF with a total funding budget of 11.5 million euros over a maximum period of three years. The 2nd ‘Sparkling Science 2.0’ call ran between June and the end of September 2023. From 116 submissions, 27 innovative citizen science projects can be funded from the 2024/25 school year. A total of around 9.5 million euros in funding is available for this purpose.
