ENIC NARIC AUSTRIA | Credential Evaluation
The National Information Center for Academic Recognition, ENIC NARIC AUSTRIA | Credential Evaluation, is responsible for questions regarding the recognition of higher education qualifications. It is part of the international networks ENIC (European Network of Information Centers – founded by the Council of Europe and UNESCO) and NARIC (National Academic Recognition Information Centers – founded by the European Union).
Please note the following before contacting:
Please note that applications for assessment of higher education qualification(s) for professional purposes can be submitted via www.aais.at only (subject to a fee).
Fees
As part of the preliminary review of the documents, it will be checked whether an assessment is possible. Only then the applicant will receive a payment request via e-mail.
The following cost contribution is due for the assessment:
€ 150,- for the assessment of up to two qualifications per application
€ 50 additionally for each further qualification per application
Payment can only be made by credit card. The applicant will receive a payment confirmation together with the completed assessment.
To carry out a full assessment, we require all relevant higher education qualifications. For example, if you are applying for an assessment of your Master’s degree, we will also need the corresponding Bachelor’s degree. If you hold multiple qualifications that build upon one another, you only need to submit a single application.
Funding for Professional Recognition
The Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) offers financial support to asylum seekers, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, immigrants, and Austrian citizens who have obtained qualifications abroad. Among other things, fees for the evaluation of higher education qualifications may be reimbursed. Further information: Förderung BerufsanerkennungPlease note:
Our assessments primarily describe the academic value of your foreign qualification. The professions mentioned in the assessment are provided for illustrative purposes only and are based on the occupational categories used by the AMS. The assessment does not restrict your access to non-regulated professions in Austria.
You can, therefore, apply for any job that matches your occupational field and qualifications. The decision on your suitability for a specific position is made by the employer.
Our assessment can serve as a valuable addition to your application documents. Information on other suitable occupations can be found on the websites AMS Berufslexikon - Startseite, berufsanerkennung.at and AMS Ausbildungskompass - Startseite.
ENIC NARIC AUSTRIA | Credential Evaluation is not responsible for this.
Applications for the assessment of school qualifications can be submitted via www.asbb.at.
Applications for the recognition of foreign vocational training can be submitted via Gleichhaltung oder Bewertung einer ausländischen Berufsausbildung.
Some professions are regulated in Austria (e.g. physician, registered nurse, and, in public institutions: preschool teacher, teacher). This means that a formal recognition process must be completed before practicing the profession (EU professional recognition and nostrification). In such cases, an evaluation is not sufficient. Further information on regulated professions and the respective authorities responsible for the recognition process can be found in our FAQs and at www.berufsanerkennung.at.
