HERAS+ Kick-off Conference

Official opening: with HERAS+, the project with Kosovo is entering the next round and the OeAD is again running the scholarship program for PhD and PostDocs.

The HERAS+ kick-off conference took place on November 25, 2020 (online). After the official opening by Mr. Rame Likaj, Minister of Education and Science, and H.E. Christoph Weidinger, Austrian ambassador to Kosovo, the project was presented by Mr. Aqim Emurli, HERAS+ team leader.

In the second part of the conference, the consortium members WUS AT, ZSI and OeAD introduced themselves and launched their calls in the project: programmatic partnerships (head of WUS Austria), research grants (head of ZSI) and scholarships for PhD and postdocs (head of OeAD). A total of more than 5 people took part in the online conference.

The HERAS+ - Higher Education Research and Applied Science+ - project aims towards a more competitive and diversified public higher education and research sector in Kosovo. It corresponds to the objectives of the European Higher Education Area (EHR), the European Research Area (ERA) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 and 9 with regard to quality assurance, economic efficiency and labor market relevance, international cooperation and the social dimension of higher education.

The project is financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kosovo (MES).Further information on the project can be found here.
