In the beginning of each term new scholarship holders are invited in the OeAD house to join a welcome meeting and the AlumniTalks. Lydia Skarits, head of the Center for International Cooperation and Mobility (ICM) held a short welcome address and wished all new scholarship holders a successful beginning of their studies. Michael Schedl and Elke Stinnig gave an introduction of the OeAD, the respective departments and the tasks. Besides relevant information concerning the scholarship and the stay in Austria were presented.

The Welcome was followed by AlumniTalks, that give newcomers the chance to meet former scholarship holders who have successfully completed their studies in Austria and to show how the scientific cooperation with Austrian higher education institutions was continued. This time we have invited Sayeh Kassaw Agegnehu, who talked about "Land rights and land administration in Ethiopia". Sayeh is the Vice President for Business and Development at Debre Markos University and the national coordinator of the APPEAR EduLAND project. The event was closed with food and drinks and everybody had the opportunity to engage in discussions and cordial conversations. Almost 70 participants listened to the information presented for new grantees and enjoyed the interesting presentation.
