Special Issue on „Open Innovation in Science“

The special issue of the journal "Industry and Innovation" contains six open access articles that explore the concept of open innovation in science.

The special issue on Open Innovation in Science (OIS) was published in the journal Industry & Innovation. OIS is a novel concept that provides a framework for exploring openness and collaboration in scientific research.

The issue contains six OIS articles that explore the preconditions, conditions and consequences of open and collaborative practices at multiple levels. This includes collaborations between academics and non-academic partners such as companies and citizen scientists.

The following articles have been published:

This article addresses the conceptual basis by defining OIS and establishing a framework of OIS practices, antecedents, consequences and contingencies.

These two articles address data sharing as a particular practice of open research.

The last three articles focus on collaboration between academics and different types of partners outside academia.
