More than 250 participants discussed how internationalisation can be made diverse, varied and accessible.

This year's OeAD Higher Education Conference took place at the University College of Teacher Education Vienna from 23 to 24 November 2023 under the title "The Many Faces of Internationalisation". Numerous experts from higher education institutions and society had their say, forums and discussion formats offered insights into the practice of diversity and internationalisation and the conference thus examined the most diverse aspects of this exciting and current topic.

Laura Leyser, managing director of Ärzte Österreich, gave a very personal keynote speech entitled "When diversity is essential for survival". Silke Preymann from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria then gave a presentation on "Diversity aspects in the internationalisation of higher education institutions". A total of seven higher education institutions then presented examples of good practice in internationalisation in the form of short inputs.

In the afternoon different aspects of internationalisation were discussed in nine forums.

On Friday, after a musical input from pupils of the practice primary school, there was input on Africa and initiatives and activities in the STEM field. Thomas Schmidinger, lecturer at the University of Vienna and Associate Professor at the University of Kurdistan HewlÍr (Erbil), gave an exciting insight into his different experiences abroad. Finally, there were two presentations on developments in student housing in Austria by Georg Löffler (ESN) and Günther Jedliczka.

We would like to thank all those who helped shape "The Many Faces of Internationalisation" and made this Higher Education Conference 2023 at the University College of Teacher Education Vienna an inspiring event!
