Citizen Science in museums

Citizen Science opens up innovative spaces for museums to research and learn together. The involvement of volunteers and the development of new forms of mediation and research are just a few examples of the many possibilities that museums can open up through Citizen Science. 

The Swiss Museums Association (VMS) has published a brochure on Citizen Science as part of its publication series "Norms and Standards - Recommendations of the VMS". This brochure offers a comprehensive insight into the basic concepts and methods of Citizen Science. The publication not only provides theoretical foundations, but also provides practical tools for implementing citizen science projects in museums.
