 Lettering: Remember Me. Graz Museum
© GrazMuseum In the winter semester of 2022/23, eleven students from the HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule, Department of Sculpture, Object Design, Restoration, intensively dealt artistically with aspects of the current exhibition Jewish Life in Graz in cooperation with the Graz Museum and developed individual monuments. The students took on the task as part of their semester work with a lot of empathy and commitment. In this way, works of art were created that open up new perspectives on Jewish life in Graz and the local culture of remembrance.

In cooperation with the HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule and DERLA, funded by the OeAD.

Exhibition opening: Remember Me. How traces become monuments

Eleven pupils of the Ortweinschule Graz, Department of Sculpture, Object Design and Restoration, intensively explored partial aspects of the exhibition “Jewish Life in Graz” in the Graz Museum and developed individual monuments for the urban space of Graz. For the research for their models and photomontages they used DERLA, Austria’s digital memorial landscape. The designs are now presented at the Graz Museum within the framework of the spring festival. The OeAD initiated and funded the project as a cultural education impulse on DERLA.

The exhibition opening will take place within the framework of the Spring Festival at the Graz Museum on 18 and 19. March.
