In the course of the seminar "Project School Development" students of the Pedagogical University Upper Austria get to know Citizen Science or the active cooperation between science and school as an approach that can help to shape the profile of a school. The staff of the OeAD Center for Citizen Science will show how cooperation with research institutions can be reflected in school profiling, using the example of schools, which have been awarded the Young Science Seal of Approval.
Every two years, the Young Science Seal of Approval is awarded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the OeAD to Austrian schools that continuously collaborate as research partners in scientific projects and enter into successful cooperations with research institutions. It is important to note that schools have to show that not only individual students have been involved, but entire groups or school classes.
