The Natural History Museum Vienna and the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences organize the event together with the team of the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA). The conference takes place every two years and is dedicated to different thematic complexes. After the theme "Planetary Health" in Berlin in 2022, the motto for 2024 is "Change". Change can be interpreted both negatively and positively.
A special highlight of ECSA 2024 is that it will be held together with the annual Austrian Citizen Science Conference.
