How can internationalisation of higher education institutions succeed in promoting innovation?

1 min read · 16. May 2022

Commitment and clear internationalisation goals supported from the top, imparting of critical, adaptive and at the same time creative thinking well integrated into teaching, an open ear for the needs of students and future employers, reflective cooperation with international partners in research and teaching, and this on an equal footing including crisis management – this and much more contributes to internationalisation and thus to the innovative strength of higher education institutions. Stays abroad traditionally play an important part but at the same time, thanks to digitisation, alternatives such as blended learning are created in order to open the window to the world a bit for students on site. The OeAD’s Bologna Day 2022 dealt with "Internationalisation implemented in a holistic way"; a review (in German) as well as photo impressions are available here.
