The Josef Ressel Center has been opened at the Pinkafeld site of the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. Over the next five years, the researchers will analyze energy systems in order to make them more sustainable and efficient.

The research focus of the new Josef Ressel Center is on the network system assessment of a sustainable energy supply since comprehensive assessment methods for the technical, ecological, social and economic sustainability of thermal energy systems have so far been lacking. Strategies for technical simulation and ecological, social and economic life cycle analyses are being developed in the new centre to understand and evaluate them.
