Development Research Award 2021

On 2 December this year's Development Research Award will be presented in the categories of main prize and junior researcher’s prize. For those interested the award ceremony will be streamed online.

The Austrian Development Research Award is awarded every two years to scientifically active institutions and individuals, in 2021 for the fifth time. The main prize is awarded to institutions or individuals for special achievements in the field of development research while the junior researchers' prize offers young researchers the opportunity to submit scientific texts on thematic focal points. In 2021 this was “Food sovereignty – for a sustainable and healthy future”.

The prizes, which are funded the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), will be awarded by the Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD) on 2 December. Due to the current Covid restrictions the award ceremony will take place online and will be broadcast via the OeAD’s livestream:
