In the annual "Times Higher Education Ranking" the University of Vienna rose 27 positions to 137th best university worldwide. The Medical University Graz was rated 196th in the top 200 for the first time.
1,662 universities from 99 countries and regions were assessed based on 13 categories of the areas of science, teaching, citations, internationalisation and acquisition of third-party funds from the industry.
