The Citizen Science event at the Technical University of Vienna on Tuesday, 21 September 2021, was all about Citizen Science. Numerous researchers from the university took part in the online event, which lasted almost four hours.
In the morning part, two staff members of the OeAD Centre for Citizen Science addressed the questions "What is Citizen Science?", "How do you plan a project?" and "What is there to consider in planning and implementation?". Afterwards, the two founders of the platform "Österreich forscht" presented three best practice examples that integrated technologies and talked about the Citizen Science Network Austria.
The afternoon part was dedicated to the topic "Citizen Science and School". At the beginning, two staff members of the Centre for Citizen Science gave insights into the cooperation between science and schools: tips for successful cooperation were presented, the impact this has on pupils, teachers and researchers was shown and the new funding programme "Sparkling Science 2.0" was presented. Two Sparkling Science projects carried out at TU Vienna completed the programme and made the picture complete.
