Citizen Scientists from around the world help researchers to better understand and improve the Earth’s environment at local, regional and global scales.

The GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) program is a citizen science initiative based in the USA that engages citizens from around the world in scientific research projects. GLOBE offers interdisciplinary activities and research on the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and pedosphere.

The vision of the initiative is to work with a global community of researchers and Citizen Scientists to better understand the environment, promote the teaching and learning of science, and improve environmental literacy and stewardship of the planet.

Numerous international projects can be found on the initiative's website. Special initiatives and projects in Europe can be found HERE.
