The eHealth Institute at FH JOANNEUM heads the Horizon 2020 project, which is endowed with six million euros, while the Medical University of Vienna is involved as the leading clinical centre. The project started in January 2021 and will run for four years. A total of fifteen international partners are on board. A personalized prediction and intervention model is being developed to identify the first signs of cognitive deterioration and associated risk factors. Based on this, people with incipient cognitive impairment are offered an intervention using "smart technology" in a clinical study that is intended to reduce the personal risk of dementia. For this purpose, the analysis was based on existing data collected as part of the FINGER study (Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment and Disability), running for over eleven years.
