In 2014/2015, as a Marietta Blau scholarship holder, the Styrian Christof Lammer travelled to the People's Republic of China. He conducted ethnographic field research for his dissertation "Performing state boundaries: a stategraphy of citizen participation in China".

For this outstanding dissertation, which he completed in 2018, he was presented with the ring of honour of the University of Vienna on March 12th, 2019 - the Dies Academicus - in the presence of the Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen. On that day the university celebrated its 654th anniversary and awarded three more doctorates "sub auspiciis" and an honorary doctorate to the chemist Jean-Marie Lehn in addition to Lammer.

The OeAD congratulates Christof Lammer and his colleagues who were awarded distinctions!
