For her dissertation Dr. Wiesböck did research at the renowned Oxford University with the help of a Marietta Blau scholarship of the OeAD.

The sociologist is currently based at the University of Vienna where she investigates the forms, causes and effects of social inequality. She was awarded the Theodor Körner Prize and the Bank Austria Research Prize for her academic work. In addition to scientific articles, she publishes in daily media such as Zeit, Standard or ORF Science on a regular basis.

In her recently published book, "In besserer Gesellschaft. Der selbstgerechte Blick auf die Anderen" (Kremayr & Scheriau), she explores the human desire for superiority.

Moreover, a detailed review of her book will be published in the next issue of the OeAD-News, which will be published at the end of March.
