Ms. Annabelle Abrera, an Ernst-Mach ASEA-UNINET PhD-scholarship holder who is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the Department of Food Science and Technology (DLWT) on „Biochemical and Electrochemical Characterization of Pyranose 2-oxidase Variants by Rapid Kinetics and Evaluation of their Potential as Enzymatic Glucose Sensors”, has jointly published a scientific article on „Multiplicity of enzymatic functions in the CAZy AA3 family“ with her supervisor Prof. Dietmar Haltrich and other colleagues. The paper was published in the peer-reviewed journal Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology.

Mr. Anh Dung Tran is also pursuing his doctoral studies within the framework of an Ernst-Mach ASEA-UNINET Grant at the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry. Together with his colleagues from the team of his supervisor Mr. Prof. Liska, Anh Dung Tran jointly worked on the university publication on “Curing at the touch of a button: carbon fiber composites and underwater adhesives”. It describes a special formula for epoxy resins developed at the TU Wien which can be used for fiber-reinforced composites in aerospace, shipbuilding and automotive manufacturing, or even for underwater renovation. This is achieved merely by irradiating any part of the resin with light. Please find more information and videos here.
