Award Ceremony of the 5th German Writing Contest for Chinese Learners

On May 4th, 2018, Award Ceremony of the 5th German Writing Contest for Chinese Learners took place at the Austrian Center. Over 30 award winners, including ones coming from Beijing, and approximately 15 guests attended this event.

The ceremony started with Austrian writer Ms. Magdalena Schrefel’s reading of some excerpts from her novel. Afterwards, the award winners received their prizes from this year’s review committee, which composed of Ms. Eva Boehmer, the cultural attache of Austrian General Consulate Shanghai, Ms. Schrefel, OeAD lecturer Ms. Andrea Plank, and Ms. Liu Jueye, program manager of Chinese-German College of Tongji University. Ms. Boehmer also read some paragraphes from the first prize winner.

The Austrian Center would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to the committee and all the participants of this year’s writing contest, as well as to Ms. Brigitte Robinson-Seyrlehner, Consul General of Austrian Consulate General Shanghai, Ms. Sakine Weikert, Head of DAAD Information Center Shanghai, and OeAD lecturer Mr. Urs Luger, who joined us in the award ceremony to show their support.
