Just like in 2017 an exchange of experiences took place at the OeAD this year. In addition to the usual updates on current developments at policy and project level the main focus was on the areas of social insurance and the law relating to aliens: Three experts from the Viennese Regional Health Insurance Provider (WGKK) (Katharina Brandstetter, Andrea Richter and Andreas Neroth) talked about the essential legal bases of the insurance system and the self-insurance options that are relevant for students and researchers. Miriam Forster, staff member of the OeAD’s legal department, focused on new provisions in the Amendment to the Law Relating to Aliens (FRÄG 2017).
Members of two universities – Heidrun Mörtl (Welcome Center, Graz University of Technology) and Armanda Pillinger (Office for Gender Equality and Equal Opportunity /Dual Career Service, Graz University of Technology) as well as Juliane Mayer (Transferstelle Wissenschaft - Wirtschaft - Gesellschaft, University of Innsbruck) – talked about the advantages of a continuous exchange of experiences and highly professional contact persons in view of a subject the details of which are often highly complex and the strategic development and cooperation possibilities and concrete projects resulting from the network.
