International Peer Learning Activity on Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes

This Peer Learning Activity gathered participants representing national authorities and national Erasmus+ agencies, higher education institutions (HEIs) and students from Austria, Croatia, and the Netherlands, to discuss challenges in implementing Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs). Participants presented the BIPs they implemented so far and a session on administrative examples of good practice provided further opportunities for peer learning. In addition, the results of a survey conducted among students who completed a BIP in the academic year 2022/23 on their experiences and perceptions of BIPs were presented. The PLA was organized on the occasion of the launch of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes. Basic Toolkit by OeAD and Nuffic.

The PLA addressed the following issues and questions:

  • problems with / questions about the Beneficiary Module and E+ administration
  • how to ensure equal access to BIPs
  • internal challenges in HEIs, such as the motivation of teachers, the timeline, or strategic decisions
  • challenges in cooperation with other HEIs and with students, such as finding the right partner, reliability of everyone involved, or a unified approach to grading
  • the workload for HEIs, teachers and students
  • measures taken by universities / international offices to facilitate the implementation of a BIP
