The University of Klagenfurt technology scholarship has played a pivotal role in enabling my studies and research. It has been a transformative experience, shaping both my academic and professional path.
During my time at the University of Klagenfurt (AAU), I became part of the Transportation Informatics research group, where I focused on machine learning, data science, and neuro-computing. I had the privilege of working under the mentorship of Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kyandoghere Kyamakya, whose guidance greatly influenced my growth and development in the field. My master's thesis on graph neural networks, conducted at Infineon, resulted in several publications in IEEE journals and conference proceedings, setting the stage for my future career.
The support I received from AAU and the scholarship opened doors. Upon graduating, I received multiple job offers, including from Infineon and other leading companies in Austria. Today, I proudly serve as the AI Lead Engineer at AGILOX, an Austrian company specializing in autonomous mobile robots for inter-logistics. Additionally, I am pursuing a PhD under the continued mentorship of Prof. Kyamakya, building on the strong foundation I developed during my time at AAU.
Recently, I had the opportunity to give a talk as the AI Lead Engineer for Autonomous Systems and Robotics, addressing over 210 attendees, including decision-makers and industry leaders from Europe and globally. I discussed the latest advancements in Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), the use of AI to boost efficiency and reliability, and the role of Realistic Simulations and Digital Twins in streamlining system deployment.
This journey would not have been possible without the support and resources provided by AAU University of Klagenfurt and the Technology Scholarship. I am deeply grateful to the university for fostering an environment where learning and innovation thrive, and I am proud to represent AAU in my professional endeavors.
We at the OeAD are very happy to follow the success story of Ibrahim and wish him all the best for his future endeavours!
