A total of five new projects have been selected that offer exciting opportunities for collaboration between science and society. All Top Citizen Science projects are part of a basic research project funded by the FWF and complement it in order to develop further scientific findings on the research topic together with the general public. The current projects start in 2025 and run for up to two years.

The topics range from environmental protection and biodiversity to health research and social science. The selected projects are characterized by their excellent scientific quality and the active participation of the public. Citizens can, for example, collect and analyze data or develop innovative solutions together with researchers. Four of the five funded projects are presented on the FWF website.
