The Federal Chancellery funds scholarships for the renowned College of Europe (Collège d'Europe) in Bruges and Natolin, and as of 2023 also for the first time at the new campus in Tirana. The aim of this is to offer excellent young students the opportunity to get an outstanding postgraduate European education and also to increase the proportion of Austrians who will work at European institutions in the future. The OeAD, in coordination with the College and the Austrian Federal Chancellery, is responsible for the entire application and selection process.
On 31 July 2024 five students received their scholarships from the Minister for Europe, Karoline Edtstadler, which they will take up in September 2024. This year, for the first time, two additional scholarships were awarded for the new campus of the College of Europe in Tirana, including a sur-place scholarship for a student from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
