Boards
Originally founded as an association in 1961, the OeAD became a limited liability company of the federal government (OeAD-GmbH – Austrian Exchange Service) in 2009. In 2021 the OeAD was given a new name by law: “OeAD-GmbH – Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation (in short: OeAD).
The OeAD’s aim is to carry out measures relating to European and international cooperation in science and research as well as fostering the arts, higher education, education, and training. All of the OeAD’s shares are owned by the Federal Government. The Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research is responsible for exercising the shareholder rights of the OeAD.
The Milestones show the OeAD’s most important stages in the context of European or Austrian developments that influenced us between 1961 and 2021.
