Psychomotricity in School

Development, application and evaluation of psychomotor teaching and learning methods in primary and secondary schools

Through a psychomotricity program, active learning in primary and secondary schools was enhanced. In training sessions, teachers were familiarized with active learning and methods of teaching oriented on children’s learning processes. These competences were put into action in everyday life at school. By the application of psychomotor teaching and learning methods, the pupils developed greater enjoyment in school, increased their abilities and gathered positive social experience.

The project comprised development, application and empirical testing of psychomotor teaching and learning methods at school. During the project period from 2014 to 2018, the differences in cognitive and psychosocial development of the pupils were evaluated in experimental and control groups. During training sessions and parent’s evenings, qualitative interviews were conducted to help interpreting the results and rendering them more precisely.
