Apply now for the European Innovative Teaching Award 2025!

We are looking for completed Erasmus+ projects related to “Citizenship Education: Participation in Democratic Life, Common Values and Civic Engagement”. The closing date for submissions is Monday, 28 April 2025, 8:00 a.m.

What is the award for?

The aim of the European Innovative Teaching Award (EITA) is to showcase innovative practices by teachers and kindergarten staff within the framework of Erasmus+ projects. The award recognises projects related to ‘Citizenship Education: Participation in Democratic Life, Common Values and Civic Engagement’.

The prize will be awarded in three categories:

  1. pre-primary education
  2. primary school, secondary school, grammar school education
  3. schools for vocational education and training

Submission deadline & award ceremony

Submit your project by Monday, 28 April 2025, 8:00 a.m. (CET) to , using this form. You will be informed of the jury's selection before the end of the school year. The award ceremony will take place on 21 October 2025 at the town hall of Vienna. Moreover, the European Commission will invite the winning schools and kindergartens from all 33 Erasmus+ countries to a networking event in Brussels.

Who can submit a project?

Have you applied or developed innovative teaching methods within your Erasmus+ project and successfully completed the project by 28 February 2025? Then don't hesitate to submit your project by 28 April 2025, 8:00 a.m. at the latest. Detailed information about the selection process 2025 will be available here shortly. 

How are the winners chosen?

The Austrian winners will be selected by the OeAD as the national agency for Erasmus+. The winners will be announced in the autumn of 2025.
