The goal of the competition is to develop new and creative solutions to the world's most pressing problems. About 125 participants will work in groups of 3 to 5 people to create proposals in one of five scientific areas, which correspond to the five EU Missions in Horizon Europe and are called "Mission Arenas." The proposals should be scientific, creative, feasible, and convincing, aiming to foster fresh, interdisciplinary ideas.
The 5 Mission Arenas are:
- Adaptation to Climate Change
- Cancer Prevention and Care
- Restore our Ocean and Water
- 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities
- A Soil Deal for Europe
At an event taking place from September 9 to 14 in Katowice, Poland, the teams will brainstorm and present their project ideas. The best ideas will be awarded prizes totaling 75,000 euros.
