OeAD Magazines

The OeAD magazines each focus on a main topic and provide information about current developments and trends in education, science and internationalisation. They offer a platform for the exchange of ideas, projects and success stories from practice and enable the presentation of stakeholders and topics. The magazines are aimed at a broad public – from education experts to other interested parties – and thus promote dialogue and networking in education.

Current publications:

OeAD Magazine #YoungEurope – Wir sind Europa (We are Europe) – in German

The magazine focuses on the importance of the EU for young people. A survey conducted by the OeAD among Austrian Erasmus students in the run-up to the 2024 European elections shows that these experiences promote a positive attitude towards the EU and strengthen the feeling of a European identity. The results emphasise the central role of mobility programmes for the EU's education strategy, both for increasing educational opportunities and strengthening awareness of the European community.

OeAD Magazine #GetEducationMoving – Bildung gestalten. Innovation leben. (Shaping education. Embracing innovation.) – in German

Under the motto #GetEducationMoving the magazine explores the role of innovative teachers in the education system. Innovative teachers are crucial to preparing pupils for a changing world. They promote creativity, use modern technologies, create learning environments in which everybody can trust each other and adapt teaching to individual needs. The magazine presents practical examples and funding programmes that support innovative teaching methods.

OeAD Magazine #EducationalCooperation – Netzwerk in Ost- und Südosteuropa (Networking in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe) – in German

Educational cooperation between Austria and Eastern/South-Eastern Europe has a long tradition and is more important now than ever. The OeAD's cooperation offices promote sustainable educational cooperation. By working with local partners the OeAD supports the further development of educational processes, the rapprochement with the EU and the local economy, which needs well-trained specialists. The magazine shows the results and potential of this cooperation.

OeAD-Magazin #HigherEducation – Erasmus+ Goes Global – mostly in German

The writer Ilija Trojanow describes experiences abroad as a confrontation with other ways of thinking and attitudes. This idea is a common theme in the magazine, which focuses on Erasmus+ and the importance of experiences abroad for higher education. As an internationalisation agency the OeAD supports students and lecturers in gaining experience abroad and demonstrates the potential of Erasmus+ worldwide. The magazine introduces some of the many students and lecturers who have embarked on the adventure of going abroad.

OeAD Magazine #YoungScienceRocks – Wissenschaft (er)leben. Zukunft gestalten. (experiencing science, shaping the future.) – in German

The OeAD connects science, schools and society and provides insights into scientific processes. The magazine introduces dedicated researchers, teachers and pupils who make science come alive. For example, a polar researcher who shares her knowledge with pupils as a Young Science ambassador. Or a physicist who conducts nuclear research at CERN in Switzerland and whose spirit of research was awakened during a Sparkling Science school project. Austria’s youngest students and teaching methods are also presented.

OeAD Magazine #Ladestation K3. – Kulturvermittlung mit Lehrlingen (cultural education with apprentices) – in German

The OeAD programme ‘K3’ connects apprentices, training centres and arts and culture. Apprentices make short films, learn body language or develop photo series together with artists. They can get creatively involved and try out problem-solving in new contexts. The brochure shows the results and potential of this collaboration between companies, schools and culture and introduces some of the people who make these projects possible.
