Podcast “One day...” - New stories of life in the circular society

A podcast now shows how children use fairy tales to tell material stories for futures in the Anthropocene.

The seven dwarves mine coal, Rumpelstiltskin spins straw into gold, but the king's daughter knows that salt is more valuable than gold and precious stones. Based on fairy tales in their material contexts, primary school pupils from Lower Austria explore how resources can be used in a cycle in the Sparkling Science project “Es wird einmal...”. As futurologists, the citizen scientists are exploring knowledge about regional raw materials at their school locations and investigating how the history of humanity as an energy source can be rewritten for the future.

In a new episode of the PH Lower Austria podcast, project manager Robert Kamper talks about the objectives and effects of the project.
