The hands-on seminar will take place in Bad Arolsen, Germany. It is organized by the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI), a project funded under the European Research Framework Program "Horizon Europe". The seminar is hosted by Arolsen Archives - International Center of Nazi Persecution in Germany. This archive collects documents on victims and survivors of National Socialism and contains information on around 17.5 million people.

During the seminar, interested persons learn about possibilities and limitations of crowdsourcing for archive projects relating to the Holocaust. They will receive theoretical and practical introductions to the development, launch and running of citizen science projects on the online platform Zooniverse. There will also be guided tours through the Arolsen Archives and the town of Bad Arolsen.

The seminar will be held in English. Solid knowledge of German is required for participation in the seminar. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the organizers.

Application is possible until August 31, 2024.
