OeAD offers: International Week of Cultural Education

In May the International Week of Cultural Education takes place, which was first proclaimed in 2011 by the UNESCO. The OeAD is taking this opportunity to highlight the importance of cultural education – and also its connection to democracy education and sustainability.

The focus is on the conference ‘Eighty years after’, which addresses remembrance work from the perspective of artistic practice and education. The OeAD also provides insights into its manifold practice where schools work together with artists and cultural institutions and put around 3,500 projects into practice each year. In this year the focus will be on projects from the ‘Kunst ist Klasse’ (‘Art at school is great’) programme, which is jointly funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education (BMB) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS).
