Science ambassadors at Austrian schools - motives, expectations, competencies

The Wisskomm Connected conference will take place from September 11-12, 2024 at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. It enables a lively exchange between research and practice in science communication.

The Center for Citizen Science is represented with the contribution “Science Ambassadors at Austrian Schools - Motives, Expectations, Competencies”.

The short lecture presents the initiative as an opportunity for science communication and focuses on its actors from science: What motivates the researchers to volunteer for children and young people? What are their expectations? How do they prepare for this and how were the support measures offered perceived? What challenges arise in practice? Answers to these and other questions will be provided by the results of the evaluation carried out at the end of 2023/beginning of 2024.
