Participatory Research with Youth in the EAT+CHANGE Project

As part of the Citizen Science project EAT+CHANGE, funded by the Sparkling Science 2.0 program, a new academic article has been published that explores the transformative potential of participatory research methods in education for sustainable development (ESD). The article, titled "Recentring the Political in Education for Sustainable Development: Participatory Photovoice Research as Prefigurative Politics Towards Social-ecological Transformation," examines how participatory photovoice research can help shape educational processes towards social-ecological transformation.

Using photovoice—a method where participants express their perspectives through photography and accompanying discussions—young people are encouraged to actively contribute to shaping sustainable futures regarding food and eating. This approach emphasizes the political and social dimensions of ESD, allowing alternative sustainable futures to be explored within the current context.
