Teacher training: Using Citizen Science in the classroom

Registration for the training course "Children and young people join in the research. When Citizen Science comes to schools" at the PH Vienna is open from 15 August.

The working group Citizen Science at/with schools is organising an online training course in the winter semester 2024 at the Vienna University of Teacher Education. In the half-day event on 21 November 2024 from 14:00 to 18:00, participants will be able to work together with  researchers and experienced teachers on how Citizen Science can be used in schools.

Citizen Science as an educational and teaching tool, it offers great added value for pupils and teachers. Pupils benefit from active learning and engagement with scientific work and research processes. For teachers, citizen science projects offer an opportunity to integrate science and research into lessons in an interactive way.

The training is aimed at teachers from all types of schools and is independent of the subject area. In the training programme covers case studies from the natural sciences as well as the humanities and and social science case studies. The event will be held online.


The registration deadline is 15 September 2024. Online registration takes place directly via the website of the Vienna University of Teacher Education (PH Wien).
