The project team, led by the University of Innsbruck, has been researching the importance and potential of green roofs in the face of climate change and the biodiversity crisis together with pupils since autumn 2022.

With the teaching materials that have now been published, the basics of scientific work can be experienced in a playful way in lessons or workshops, the advantages of green roofs can be worked out and the conditions on such roofs and adaptations of plants can be researched. Among other things, the project recorded the diversity of insects on the green roofs studied. Therefore, additional methods on the topic of biodiversity are included.

The methods are described in detail and the accompanying resources can be downloaded directly.

The collected materials can be found on the Sparkling Science website.
