Join in the research at the City Nature Challenge

The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is a four-day international citizen science event in spring, which will take place for the 5th time in 2024. At the CNC, cities and regions compete against each other each year in a friendly competition in an attempt to observe as many wild animals, plants and fungi as possible in their city and document them with a camera.

There are numerous ways to take part in the City Nature Challenge. The most important thing is to observe and document wild animals and wild plants, fungi and lichens and to help identify the observations made.
