The Austrian Academy of Sciences has launched a new prize question to assess the domestic research landscape
1 min read · 05. February 2024

The Academy's prize question aims to find answers to unresolved scientific and social issues. In 2024, the focus will be on the question of Austria as a research location: How could the overall framework conditions for researchers be further improved? And what about the funding of basic and applied research?

The committee are looking for text contributions in the form of an essay with references and a length limit of 10,000-15,000 characters that contain suggestions for improving research conditions. The essays can be written by individuals or groups in German or English. The first prize is endowed with €8,000, the second prize with €6,000 and the third prize with €2,000. The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2024.
