In the context of the still quite new Master's programme for secondary education at the University of Teacher Education in Upper Austria, the staff of the OeAD Centre for Citizen Science presented various topics related to Citizen Science. The lecture showed what is behind Citizen Science, which best practice examples exist and how Citizen Science can be integrated in schools. At the beginning, it quickly became clear that the students had never heard of the Citizen Science concept. It was all the more gratifying that at the end of the event they could imagine using Citizen Science projects in the classroom.

We would like to thank Prof.in Dr.in Claudia Fahrenwald (Citizen Science contact person at the University of Education Upper Austria) for the invitation and are looking forward to being part of her course again next summer!

If your institution is also interested in a lecture, please contact citizenscience@oead.at
